About Fresh Life Style –

The name Fresh Life came to me in the summer of 2024 when my girlfriend and I bought a boat. We chose the name to symbolize our fresh start together. Though we’ve since parted ways, I decided to carry on with Fresh Life, to share my story in hopes of helping someone else—whether to avoid the mistakes I made or to know they’re not alone. It’s about community, faith, and embracing joy, love, and friendship.

I grew up in poverty. Every year, we lived without electricity, heat, or water—sometimes all at once. As a child, I couldn’t understand why.

One Christmas, when I was about five years old, I received a used teddy bear from church donations. I was heartbroken and, in that moment, I turned my back on God, deciding I would do everything myself. I left home at 15 and eventually earned a full scholarship to the University of Akron. I worked in construction, built my own company, and achieved my dream of owning a house in a neighborhood I never thought possible.

For 35 years, I believed I was doing it all on my own, without help from friends or God. Then, around 2019-2020, I made what seemed like a great decision at the time: taking my company union. It ended up being my biggest mistake. I defaulted on a large project, my relationship ended, I went through bankruptcy, and I lost my dream house, truck, and business. I lost everything.

During this dark time, I found the 75 Hard program by Andy Frisella. It helped me stop drinking and gave me direction. One day, while passing my church, I felt a voice urging me to go inside. I did, and for the first time in my life, I began attending church regularly. I was baptized this past summer.

Today, I’ve rebuilt my business and now have a thriving masonry restoration company. I have incredible friends who uplift me, I’m more involved in church, and I’m active in my son’s life. What I thought was the worst thing that had ever happened to me turned out to be the best, because it put me on this path.
